We run the online store at www.merakibeauty.in, which is hosted on Shopify. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit or buy from our store, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what choices you have. We've tried to write it in plain language rather than legal jargon. By using our website or placing an order, you agree to this policy. What information we collect Information you give us Your name, email address and phone number Your shipping and billing address What you ordered, and your order history Anything you write to us — messages through our contact form, email, WhatsApp, or a product review Your email address if you subscribe to our newsletter Payment information We do not store your card, UPI or net-banking details. Payments are processed directly by our payment gateway partners, Razorpay and PhonePe, who handle that information under their own PCI-DSS compliant security standards. We only receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, along with the last few digits of the instrument used. Cookies and tracking Cookies are small files stored on your device that help a website work properly and remember things about you. We use: Essential cookies — these keep your cart working, keep you logged in, and are required for the site to function. These can't be switched off. Analytics cookies — we use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to understand how visitors use our site: which pages are popular, where people drop off, and what we should improve. Advertising cookies — we use the Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram) so that we can show our products to people who have visited our site, and measure whether our ads work. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, parts of the site — including checkout — may stop working. You can also opt out of personalised ads directly with the platforms: through your Facebook and Instagram ad settings, and through Google's Ads Settings. 5. Who we share your information with We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the partners we need to run the business: Shopify — hosts our store and processes orders on our behalf Razorpay and PhonePe — process your payments securely Courier and logistics partners — deliver your order, and receive your name, address and phone number Google (Analytics and Tag Manager) — website analytics Meta (Facebook and Instagram) — advertising and measurement. This counts as sharing your information for targeted advertising, and you can opt out as described in section 4. Email, SMS and WhatsApp messaging providers — send the messages you've asked to receive Our reviews platform — collects and displays product reviews We may also disclose your information if the law requires it — for example in response to a court order, a lawful request from a government authority, or to protect our legal rights. If our business is ever sold or merged, your information may transfer to the new owner. We'd tell you before that happened. 6. Marketing messages and how to opt out If you've given us permission, we may send you emails, SMS or WhatsApp messages about new products, offers and skincare content. How long we keep your information We keep your information only as long as we need it: Order and invoice records — for at least 8 years, because Indian tax and accounting law requires it Your account information — for as long as your account is open Marketing contact details — until you unsubscribe Website analytics data — typically up to 26 months After that, we delete it or anonymise it so it can no longer identify you. 8. How we protect your information Our site runs on Shopify over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Payment details are handled by PCI-DSS compliant providers — Razorpay and PhonePe — and are never stored on our systems. Access to customer data is limited to the people who need it to do their job. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we can't promise absolute security — but we take it seriously, and if a breach ever affects your data we'll notify you and the relevant authorities as the law requires. 9. Your rights You have the right to: Access the personal information we hold about you Correct anything that's wrong or out of date Delete your information, where we're not legally required to keep it Withdraw consent for marketing at any time Object to how we use your information Complain to us, or to the relevant data protection authority To exercise any of these, email sneha@merakibeauty.in. We'll respond within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, so that we don't hand your data to someone else. 10. Children Our products and website are intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us their information, write to us at sneha@merakibeauty.in and we'll delete it. 11. Links to other websites Our website and blog may link to other sites — for example our Instagram, YouTube, or an article we've referenced. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their privacy practices. Read their policies before sharing information with them. 12. Customers outside India We currently ship within India only. If you access our website from outside India, be aware that your information will be processed on servers in India and other countries where our service providers operate, which may have different data protection laws. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you additionally have the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Where we transfer your data outside those regions, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses. 13. Changes to this policy We may update this policy from time to time — for example if we add a new service or the law changes. The "Last updated" date at the top will always tell you when it last changed. If we make a significant change, we'll tell you by email or with a notice on the website. 14.
